Me llamo Paulo. Nací en Buenos Aires en 1981, soy guionista y director especializado en Cine de género Fantástico y Terror.
Con el tiempo descubrí que también me apasiona el Cine Documental y se convirtió en mi nueva área de trabajo, la cual me llevó a especializarme en TV y Media de Divulgación Cultural y Científica.
En 2024 empecé a escribir teatro comenzando un camino en Microteatro Buenos Aires y en junio de 2025 llegué a los teatros de Perú con la adaptación de una de mis obras.
Comencé mi carrera a los 15 años sumándome a FARSA Producciones en 1996, produciendo y actuando en la primera entrega de la saga PLAGA ZOMBIE (1997), considerada como el puntapié inicial para el movimiento de Cine de Género argentino del siglo XXI.
En 2022, Nicanor Loreti y Camilo de Cabo estrenaron un documental sobre nuestra historia, se llamó UN MILLÓN DE ZOMBIES: LA HISTORIA DE PLAGA ZOMBIE, y fue seleccionado en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata, Festival Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre, y en el Festival de Cine de Sitges, entre otros.
I was born in Buenos Aires in 1981 and specialize as a screenwriter and director in Fantasy and Horror genres. Over time, I discovered a passion for Documentary Film as well, leading me to a new area of work specializing in TV and Media focusing on Cultural and Scientific Outreach.
I began my career at the age of 15 by joining FARSA Producciones in 1996, producing and acting in the first installment of the PLAGA ZOMBIE saga (1997). This is considered the starting point for the Argentine Genre Film movement of the 21st century.
In 2024, I started writing theater, beginning a journey in Microteatro Buenos Aires, and by June 2025, I arrived at the theaters of Peru with the adaptation of one of myplays.
In 2022, Nicanor Loreti and Camilo de Cabo released a documentary about our story titled “UN MILLÓN DE ZOMBIES: LA HISTORIA DE PLAGA ZOMBIE,” which was selected for the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre Festival, and the Sitges Film Festival, among others.
Después de haber estrenado Plaga Zombie, comencé la carrera de cine en el CIEVyC, donde me recibí de Técnico Superior en Realización de Cine y Video en 2001. También me formé como actor en la escuela de Comedia Musical Río Plateado, dirigida por Hugo Midón, y entrené durante cinco años con Julio Chávez.
Escribí y dirigí los films NUNCA ASISTAS A ESTE TIPO DE FIESTAS (2000), 100% LUCHA vs. EL AMO DE LOS CLONES (2009), KAPANGA: TODOTERRENO ( 2009), NUNCA MÁS ASISTAS A ESTE TIPO DE FIESTAS (2009) y el rockumental BLUES DE LOS PLOMOS (2013). Mis últimos films como guionista fueron PLAGA ZOMBIE 3 (2011), SOY TÓXICO (Parés, 2018), LOS QUE VUELVEN (Casabé, 2019) y los documentales SEREMOS MILLONES (Briata, Vivacqua, 2022) y ÁLBUM DE FAMILIA (Casabé, 2024).
Entre 2007 y 2008 dirigí la serie cómica FLASH INFORMATIVO, producida por BBTV para SONY ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION, con guiones de NAH! CONTENIDOS y protagonizada por Mike Amigorena.
Entre 2004 y 2011 escribí y dirigí videoclips con FARSA Producciones. Trabajé con íconos de la música argentina como Attaque 77, Pimpinella, 2 Minutos, Bahiano, Árbol, Los Pericos y Kapanga, entre otros.
En TV fui colaborador autoral en la serie PETER PUNK (Disney), head writer y autor en las series CREANDO BESTIAS PREHISTÓRICAS y VIDEOJUEGOS SOBRE RUEDAS, BIBLIÓMANOS y el telefilm GROOMING, todos de Mulata Films, entre otros proyectos.
Desde 2008 dicto talleres, cursos y seminarios, como Realización de Videoclips en el Centro Cultural Rojas – UBA y en Estudio Urbano; Guión Cinematográfico en La Nave de Los Sueños y Espacio de Arte Orgánico de Patricia Sadi; Guión Cinematográfico y Análisis de Cine Fantástico en Farsa Producciones; Cine en la Secretaría de Culturas de La Rioja.
También fui Docente MEP en la carrera de Medios Audiovisuales del nivel secundario de ORT Argentina, entre 2004 y 2005.
Como actor comencé el 21 de septiembre de 1996, interpretando un zombie en PLAGA ZOMBIE. A partir de ese día participaría en películas, videoclips y obras de teatro, como QUE LA PACHAMAMA ESPERE (Julio Chávez, 2004), SPETTO CORRIDO (Lagar, 2005) y LOS MUROS (Casabé y Bera, 2012); los videoclips ARRANCACORAZONES de ATTAQUE 77 (2004) y POSTAL de KAPANGA (2005); las películas FILMATRON (Parés, 2007) y EL HIJO DE DIOS (Fernández y Girod, 2016).
Desde el año 2011 dicto un Taller de Actuación para adolescentes y jóvenes con discapacidad mental en la escuela especial Aprender a Aprender.
El amor por el teatro me volvió a llamar y en 2024 comencé a escribir obras en Microteatro, estrenando junto a la directora Claudia Vargas las obras EL OCTAVO PECADO CAPITAL (noviembre 2024) y “HACEME LA SEGUNDA, RICARDO” (febrero 2025).
As an actor, I began on September 21, 1996, playing a zombie in PLAGA ZOMBIE. From that day on, I would participate in movies, music videos, and theater plays, such as QUE LA PACHAMAMA ESPERE (Julio Chávez, 2004), SPETTO CORRIDO (Lagar, 2005), and LOS MUROS (Casabé and Bera, 2012); the music videos ARRANCACORAZONES by ATTAQUE 77 (2004) and POSTAL by KAPANGA (2005); and the films FILMATRON (Parés, 2007) and EL HIJO DE DIOS (Fernández and Girod, 2016).
Since 2011, I have been teaching an Acting Workshop for adolescents and young people with intellectual disabilities at the special school Aprender a Aprender.
The love for theater called me again and in 2024 I began to write plays in Microteatro, premiering with director Claudia Vargas the plays EL OCTAVO PECADO CAPITAL (November 2024) and “HACEME LA SEGUNDA, RICARDO” (February 2025).
A comienzos de siglo comencé un camino como crítico y ensayista cinematográfico colaborando en la revista LA COSA, dirigida por Axel Kuschevatzky, y en el programa de MALBA Cine, dirigido por Fernando Martín Peña. Actualmente escribo la columna mensual FANTÁSTICO INOXIDABLE en el sitio A SALA LLENA.
Participé como corrector en los libros LOS MASONES Y EL GENERAL MITRE y BRUTAL de Guillermo Enrique D´Arino Aringoli.
Canto y toco la guitarra en la banda de folk rock de corte matancero Los Travelling Pitbulls. También hice música para algunas películas, como Plaga Zombie 2, Plaga Zombie 3 y la canción de Marisa y Gomoso, de Pablo Parés.
Impulsé y coordiné el equipo de guion ad hoc de la Dirección Audiovisual del MINISTERIO DE CULTURA DE LA NACIÓN entre 2020 y 2023. Allí creé y desarrollé diferentes formatos de divulgación cultural. Mi última colaboración fue la experiencia documental inmersiva “Antártida, un legado de soberanía” en el Centro Cultural Kirchner.
Entre 2023 y 2014 guioné la cuarta y quinta temporada del programa CÓDIGO VIAJE, realizado por LA CORTE y conducido por Tomás Fonzi para la pantalla de TELEFÉ.
Actualmente dirijo el área de comunicación de la Escuela Especial Aprender a Aprender.
2024 fue un año de premios, en cual recibí la MENCIÓN ESPECIAL DEL JURADO A MEJOR GUION en el FESTIVAL CINE EN GRANDE por ÁLBUM DE FAMILIA, con la cual también ganamos MEJOR PELÍCULA QUEER en el festival FIDBA. Además, obtuve mi primer MARTÍN FIERRO de Televisión por Cable por el programa QUEREME TRANS, en la terna de Servicios.
También en 2024 comencé a escribir teatro, estrenando en MICROTEATRO BUENOS AIRES las obras EL OCTAVO PECADO CAPITAL y ¡HACEME LA SEGUNDA, RICARDO!, ambas con dirección de Claudia Vargas.
Sigo dictando seminarios, talleres y cursos. Y sobre todas las cosas, sigo escribiendo. Siempre.
At the beginning of the century, I developed as a film critic and essayist, contributing to the magazine LA COSA, directed by Axel Kutchevasky, and to the MALBA Cine program, directed by Fernando Martín Peña. I am currently writing the monthly column FANTÁSTICO INOXIDABLE on the site A SALA LLENA.
I participated as a proofreader for the books LOS MASONES Y EL GENERAL MITRE and BRUTAL by Guillermo Enrique D´Arino Aringoli.
I sing and play the guitar in the folk rock band with a Matanza touch, Los Travelling Pitbulls. I’ve also composed music for some movies, such as Plaga Zombie 2, Plaga Zombie 3, and the song for Marisa & Gomoso, by Pablo Parés.
I spearheaded and coordinated the ad hoc script team for the Audiovisual Direction of the MINISTERIO DE CULTURA DE LA NACIÓN between 2020 and 2023. There, I created and developed various cultural outreach formats. My latest collaboration was the immersive documentary experience “Antártida, un legado de soberanía” at the Centro Cultural Kirchner.
Between 2023 and 2014, I wrote the fourth and fifth seasons of the program CÓDIGO VIAJE, produced by LA CORTE and hosted by Tomás Fonzi for TELEFÉ.
Currently, I direct the communication area of the special school Aprender a Aprender.
2024 was a year of awards, in which I received the SPECIAL JURY MENTION FOR BEST SCREENPLAY at the CINE EN GRANDE FESTIVAL for ÁLBUM DE FAMILIA, with which we also won BEST QUEER FILM at the FIDBA festival. In addition, I obtained my first MARTÍN FIERRO for Cable Television for the program QUEREME TRANS, in the Services category.
Also in 2024 I began to write theater, premiering at MICROTEATRO BUENOS AIRES the plays EL OCTAVO PECADO CAPITAL and ¡HACEME LA SEGUNDA, RICARDO!, both directed by Claudia Vargas.
I continue to teach seminars, workshops, and courses. And above all, I keep writing. Always.
